Q: Who are you?
A: My name is Andrew Turnbull.
Q: Tell me more about you.
A: I'm originally from the small town of Athens, West Virginia; although my family ties skew heavily towards the upper midwest and nowadays I'm comfortable calling Wisconsin my home. Although I initially forged my education in the history of the visual arts, I'm currently in the midst of engaging in various volunteer activities while studying accounting as an additional undergraduate field at the UW Manitowoc County Center.
I'm a fan of music, cycling, esoteric subjects, and logical analysis of facts. I still do most of my work on a Windows 95 PC; though I'd like to successfully transition to BSD or Linux someday.
Q: Can I call you "Andy?"
A: I'd rather you didn't.
Q: Are you head of the Civil Service in the United Kingdom?
A: No, I am not. It so happened to be that an individual named Sir Andrew
Turnbull was head of the UK Home Civil Service and Cabinet Secretary
in the British Government from 2002 until his retirement in summer 2005, and my site still tends to come up high in Google searches for information on him.
If this is how you have come here, I should redirect you to the UK Home Civil Service website.
Q: How can I contact you electronically?
You can e-mail me feedback and other correspondence here.
My AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ handles are andrewt3660 and
300868519, if you're into that sort of thing.
Q: How did you create this site?
A: I code all HTML (and CSS) by hand, using a text editor. Recently, my preferred application has been a free and feature-rich editor for Windows called Notespad, although I have used other programs before. For my own amusement, I phased out most deprecated markup and converted the pages to XHTML.
Q: Is it just me, or does your website have absolutely no coherent theme?
A: *sigh* Well, I suppose that's one of the perils of having too many interests. Currently the major sections are the (peculiarity that is the) License Plate Gallery, the Mozilla Network (a mostly-superseded resource devoted to the Internet software of the same name), and an (inconsistently-updated) Third Eye Blind fansite called Lost A Whole Year. None of which have much of anything to do with each other, and all of which are supplemented by a scattering of still other assorted pages that don't fit into any of the above.
Q: Does your mother know about this site?
A: Yes. (Digg knows about it too, but that's another story...)
Q: What happened to _________ page or _________ section?
A: Lately, I've been in the midst of rearranging and reorienting the site. Invariably some things get shunted around, and some things come and go.
Q: What features are you thinking of adding to your personal web
site?
A: I always consider adding new interesting stuff from time to time.
Q: What is your opinion on _________ topic?
A: If you know me well enough, you probably already know by now...
Q: Won't you tell me anything else? There's so much I want to know.
A: Sorry. That's all for now...
