Q: Who are you?
[Andrew Turnbull] A: My name is Andrew Turnbull.

Q: Tell me more about you.
A: I'm originally from a small town in the eastern U.S. known as Athens, West Virginia. In 2007 I graduated from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and the following year I moved to Wisconsin. I'm a fan of good music and odd hobbies. I use Windows 95, but would ultimately like to transition to Linux.

Q: Can I call you "Andy?"
A: I'd rather you didn't.

Q: How can I contact you electronically?
You can e-mail me feedback and other correspondence here.
My AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ handles are andrewt3660 and 300868519, if you're into that sort of thing.

Q: Are you head of the Civil Service in the United Kingdom?
A: No, I am not. It so happened to be that an individual named Sir Andrew Turnbull was head of the UK Home Civil Service and Cabinet Secretary in the British Government from 2002 until his retirement in summer 2005, and my site still tends to come up high in Google searches for information on him. If this is how you have come here, I should redirect you to the UK Home Civil Service website.

Q: Is that all you can say?
A: I'm roughly a quarter Canadian. That help?

Q: How did you create this site?
A: I code all HTML (and CSS) by hand, using a text editor. Recently, my preferred application has been a free and feature-rich editor for Windows called Notespad, although I have used other programs before. For my own amusement, I phased out most deprecated markup and converted the pages to XHTML.

Q: How is this site hosted?
A: Currently I'm paying (a little) for my own server space. From November 2003 to June 2007, the site was hosted by West Virginia University via their handy "community.wvu.edu" hosting service available to students, faculty, and staff. As for the eleven fleeting months before that, the site was hosted by (gack!) GeoCities: Thankfully, Mozilla and Netscape 7.x had built-in pop-up blockers.

Q: I have no idea what you are talking about.
A: Well...

Q: Is it just me, or does your website have absolutely no coherent theme?
A: *sigh* Well, I suppose that's one of the perils of having too many interests. Currently the major sections are the Mozilla Network (devoted to the Internet software of the same name), the (peculiarity that is the) License Plate Gallery, a (mediocre and infrequently-updated) Third Eye Blind fansite called Lost A Whole Year, and my (admittedly opinionated) Web Journal. None of which have much of anything to do with each other, and all of which are supplemented by a scattering of still other assorted pages that don't fit into any of the above.

Q: Does your mother know about this site?
A: Yes.

Q: Is the 3Com 3C905C Ethernet adapter that they sell at the WVU bookstore compatible with Windows 95?
A: Yes, it is. In spite of what the box says about "Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, NT," the 3C905C is fully compatible with Windows 95, and the Technology Support Center even agrees with me. It's worked flawlessly for me, and the CD-ROM even appears to come with drivers for Windows 3.11, for the record.

Q: What features are you thinking of adding to your personal web site?
A: I always consider adding new interesting stuff from time to time.

Q: Won't you tell me anything else? There's so much I want to know.
A: Sorry. You've reached the end of my Frequently Asked Questions list.
